Dear Pomona College Community,
We are writing to inform you of an important development regarding Title IX regulations. The new regulations, issued by the U.S. Department of Education, were released on April 19, 2024, and are effective August 1, 2024.
As part of our response, we are committed to ensuring compliance with these updated standards. We will implement a new interim policy by August 1, 2024. This interim policy will allow us to remain compliant while we develop a comprehensive and permanent policy.
In the coming weeks, we will share more information and hold informational sessions to discuss these changes and institutional responsibility. Additionally, to support this transition and ensure that everyone in our community is well-informed, we are also creating a new training program. This program will follow the required regulations and will be designed to familiarize all faculty, staff, and students with the new regulations and our interim policy. We believe that thorough understanding and adherence to these guidelines are crucial for maintaining a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
