Checkout Programs

Let us help you reduce your environmental impacts! The Sustainability Office offers Greenware, Cookware, laundry racks, LED light bulbs, and more to offset the cost of using reusable items. All checkouts are free for Pomona students, staff, faculty, and ASPC-affiliated clubs. Please see our list of fees for lost or broken items.

Greenware

Having an event on campus? Use free, reusable Greenware! We have plates, cups, bowls, and utensils available for free checkout. All items are made from 100% recycled plastic and are BPA and melamine-free. This program is free for Pomona students, faculty, staff, and ASPC-affiliated clubs.

How does it work?

  1. Request your kit: At least two business days before your event (the earlier the better), request a kit by filling out this form. Let us know how many of each item you need (up to 100 of each*), and we’ll email you when your order is ready for pickup from the SO. *For extra large orders, please email us, and we'll do our best to fill your order.
  2. Use your kit: Use the Greenware at your event. When finished, place everything back in the bin— no need to clean! Be sure to count the items; any missing items will be charged to your account.
  3. Return your kit: Within one business day after your event, please return your kit directly to the Frank Dining Hall loading dock (behind the building). Frank Dining Hall staff kindly washes and sanitizes the items.

Cookware

Want to cook or bake something on campus? Use free cookware! We have many items available for checkout including pots, pans, knives, baking sheets, and more! Fill out the cookware form to place your checkout request. This program is free for Pomona students and ASPC-affiliated clubs.

Laundry Drying Racks

Dry your laundry in your own room or suite and save money and energy! To check out a drying rack, simply visit the self-checkout station outside our office in the basement of Harwood court on the northeast side of the building. A link to the checkout form can be found posted on the wall above the drying racks, and checkouts are good for the entire school year.

Bicycle U-Locks

Safely lock your bike with a U-lock, one of the most secure bike locks available. Locks are available for rent through Green Bikes for a small price of $5 per year. Email GreenBikes@bonaprinting.com to request a bike lock.

Power Strips

Did you know that devices left plugged in still use energy, even when turned off? Reduce your “vampire” load by using a power strip and turning off items when not in use! A limited supply of power strips is available for checkout from the SO thanks to a President’s Sustainability Fund project. Email sustainability@bonaprinting.com to place your checkout request.

LED Bulbs

Free LED bulbs are always available in the SO. LED bulbs use one-tenth of the energy of a traditional incandescent bulb.

Lena Cups

Free Lena Cups are available in the SO. Lena Cups are reusable menstrual cups made from medical-grade silicone, promoting a waste-free and chemical-free period. Detailed information can be found at the Lena Cup website.
